Dental implants are an exciting, premium option for people looking to invest in themselves and their health. A treatment plan with implants has the ability to change someone’s life, giving them comfort, function, security and health. A dental implant is essentially an artificial tooth root that is integrated into the jaw. After a period of healing, one or more missing teeth can be replaced by attaching a crown, a fixed bridge, or a full set of dentures on top of the implants. We look forward to discussing the possibilities with you.Know More

There is very little risk in dental X-rays. We are especially careful to limit the amount of radiation to which children are exposed. Lead aprons and the latest generation of low exposure digital radiography are used to ensure your safety. We always respect our patients and their ability to direct and control their treatment. Our clinicians will advise you of what we suggest, but the ultimate decision regarding x-rays, or any treatment for that matter, is up to you.
Parents should take their children to the dentist regularly, beginning around three years of age. We can recommend a specific program of brushing, flossing, and other treatments for parents to supervise and teach to their children. These home treatments, when added to regular dental visits and a balanced diet, will help give your child a lifetime of healthy habits. One of the biggest risk factors for children developing cavities is the consumption of sticky and chewy sweets. Even organic products like dried fruit chews or granola bars are loaded with sugars that stick in the teeth for hours. For a healthy dental treat, try offering organic, frozen blueberries. They are delicious and nutritious but watch out for the messy stains!

In order to treat each and every patient as an individual with unique dental needs it is vital to completely assess their current oral health. We perform an oral cancer screening, we look at muscles and joints that open and close the mouth. We will look at your teeth, and your gums and bone that hold the teeth (the periodontium). We then take photos and x-rays when necessary. Most importantly, we will listen to your needs, concerns and your individual story – we always ensure that you are in control of every aspect of your dental care and treatment. Our office strives to maintain our patients with healthy, long-term solutions. We would never suggest crowning every tooth or switching all of your fillings – each person is an individual with different needs and priorities. We respect your wishes and give you complete autonomy in directing the course of your dental treatment. Our office is trusted because we listen to our patients, never “selling” them or pressuring them to pursue treatment they don’t want or need. With this collaboration we can determine the type of treatment that is right for you so we can work together to assist you in creating and maintaining a lifetime of healthy smiles.
There are several methods to make teeth whiter. You can “whiten” them in with custom mouth guards which are worn while you sleep to gently erase years of staining or if your teeth are also broken, heavily restored or crowded and crooked, you may consider placing porcelain veneers. The safest and most predictable whitening technique is a dentist-prescribed whitening system; this can improve and change the color of teeth with minimal (if any) side effects. Veneers are an option for more difficult cases and create a certain ‘wow’ factor. There are many other ways to improve the appearance of your smile. If you are interested in a cosmetic consultation to assess your cosmetic needs please let us know. We are proud to have transformed many people’s lives by delivering that perfect smile that they have always dreamed of. We’d be pleased to help you too!
The most important part of brushing your teeth is the technique used. Toothpaste is important for what it supplies: fluoride and tartar control. Be careful of the whitening brands because some are abrasive and they can remove enamel from teeth. Many people have found that a toothpaste for sensitivity relief is the best option for maintaining the comfort of their mouths. There are also several natural brands on the market which are available for people with allergies or sensitivities. We’d be happy to discuss which product would be best for your individual needs.
After testing numerous brushes, we have concluded that electric, if used properly, is the best. We usually recommend the ‘Oral B’ electric toothbrushes because of their design, ease of use, and availability. There are numerous models on the market that work well. If you have a question about a specific brand, please ask us. Ultimately, it is how you use the toothbrush that makes the difference, not the specific brand. Being aware of reaching each area, focusing on the biting surfaces, as well as the cheek and tongue sides, as well as spending enough time are all important. Do a little test with your tongue after brushing…all of the teeth should feel clean and smooth. It there are any sticky or fuzzy areas, you may have missed something. Tooth pics, inter-dental brushes and of course floss (either the plain old string or a floss tool) also help. Take your time, and brush away!
We realize that even though dental care has come a long way in terms of patient comfort, there are still those with concerns and fears. Dental care should not be an unpleasant experience so we provide a full array of options for those patients. Our office is pleased to offer laughing gas or oral sedation for nervous or anxious people. Netflix movies or music with headphones from a playlist on our iPods can help to distract and relax you as well as drowning out some of those noisy dental tools. Sometimes just having a soft, warm blanket to snuggle under can create a feeling of safety and comfort. Most importantly, we pledge to listen to your concerns, respect your choices, put you at ease, and make your comfort our number one priority. We offer several techniques to help you relax so please ask us about what might be right for you.
